    Smash - Enter Mr. DiMaggio
I am not really sure what this show is doing. It all just seems so obvious and boring. Let’s see. First off, we have Ivy sleeping with the director. Kind of saw that coming, but it hasn’t really excited me or made me nervous, and I suspect at some time there will be another shakeup between Karen and Ivy as Marilyn. They add this thing this week of Julia having had an affair with the new Joe DiMaggio guy, so now she’s OK with the director and Ivy, and Tom was mad, but is he OK now? He always wanted Ivy for the part anyway. Karen goes back to Iowa and her dad is upset, but not really, and don’t even get me started on her inexplicably excitabel friends. Then this thing about the assistant listening in ALL THE TIME and planning to leverage something for more money, I guess. Is this really the best storyline they could come up with? It is like they put every preconception about Broadway producing and then just do that exactly. Not very interesting. Even the musical segments are pretty pointless and just like time-wasters. A Bruno Mars “thing”? Really? I am certainly not claiming I could do better with this idea, but they need to shake things up or I will lose interest.
